CANCELLED - 01.23.09 - Sonic Bridge
THE JANUARY 23 'SONIC BRIDGE' EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED
Friday January 23rd, 2009
Doors 8PM
Music 9PM
$5 suggested donation
The U.S. Immigration Policy could change soon, since Obama will be sworn
into office shortly as the U.S.'s 44th President. Currently hundreds of
miles of wall and fence stretch across the U.S.-Mexico border, and the Bush
administration is trying to make sure that the border fence gets extended as
quickly as possible-in these final waning days of that lame duck
administration.
On Friday, January 23rd, sound artists and musicians at Enemy will be part
of a Sonic Bridge performance event which will perpendicularly run through
the U.S.-Mexico border wall/fence, in conjunction with sound artists and
musicians who live here in the U.S., Central America, and South America.
Sonic Bridge will be a telematic performance event - so performers in remote
locations will be able to interact with each other in real time. The
performers include: Eric Leonardson, Jon Cates, Noe Cuellar, Glenn Weyant,
Jake Elliott, Amanda Gutierrez, Jon Satrom, Brent Gutzeit, Dan Godston, and
others. Although people have many different opinions about what should be
done about the U.S.-Mexico border/fence and the U.S.' Immigration Policy, it
is a good that ideas and sound can travel freely across borders.
